It is the last month of winter and spring is just around the corner. I am often guilty of wanting to skip winter. However here I am reminding myself to cherish each day, even the cold ones. It is time to slow cook some delicious winter veggies, snuggle up with a blanket and watch a good movie. Enjoy the Saturday morning sleep-ins, hot water bottles and scarves (oh how I love my scarves!). There are plenty of things to love, even in Winter.
This August we say goodbye to dates, custard apples, nashi pears and quinces which are no longer in season. On the bright side, blood oranges and cumquats are now at their best!
Okra is joining the list of in-season veggies this August.
Let me know in the comments below if you have tried a blood orange, cumquat or okra before. Did you like them?
